Society6 is a print on demand website with a large selection of products in different categories, like clothing, furniture, home accessories, and phone cases.
However, Society6 is not for all artists.
Society6 artists only earn 10 percent of each sale (for most products). Unless you are selling art, framed, or canvas prints, you do not have control over your earnings.
In addition, if you sell on Society6, you will be selling on an Artist Shop hosted on the Society6 marketplace.
If you’re looking for a bit more independence and want to start a
That’s why many artists and entrepreneurs are looking for Society6 alternatives.
Fortunately, there are many sites that are similar to Society6 but which have a better product selection, allow you to control your earnings, or give you better commissions.
Regardless of why you are looking for an alternative to Society6, this article is for you. Let’s get started.
Best Print On Demand Websites Like Society6
1. Printful
Printful, unlike Society6, does allow you to control your earnings.
In addition, Printful gives you more options and flexibility when it comes to where you can sell your products.
Not only can you sell on your own store, but you can also sell on third-party marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Wish.
This allows you to get started with print on demand without the hassle of creating your own website and working on building up traffic to that website.
If you do decide to sell on your own website, you can start a website with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Wix, Weebly, Gumroad, Big Cartel, and many others!
The selection of products available on Printful is awesome.
You can sell clothes, caps, bags, keychains, jewelry, pillowcases, coffee mugs, and much more!
Printful is also very easy to use and navigate. It is entirely free to create an account, and you can have a store set up in a very short time.
If you need help setting up your store, you can enlist the help of Printful professionals.
They can take care of your site’s graphic design, and they can also create product photos and videos to help you get more conversions.
They can even create your entire store from scratch.
To use Printful, simply choose the product you want to sell and use the mockup generator to upload a design.
Then, when a customer places an order, Printful will print your logo on the product and ship it directly to the customer.
The warehousing and fulfillment service will help you grow your business.
If you have products that you are buying from a third-party supplier, you can have them shipped to the Printful warehouse for storage.
Then, when an order comes in, Printful will fulfill the order and ship it to your customer, even though you bought the product from somewhere else.
Of course, you will have to pay for storage and fulfillment.
Printful also offers a white-label service, which is very useful if you want to start a clothing line or brand.
These products have zero Printful branding, so your customers will never know that you are using Printful.
Printful can even help you create your brand logo, so you can start your clothing line.
You can have your logo printed on the packing slip so that it really looks like you shipped the product yourself.
You can also insert business cards, flyers, and other inserts into the packages.
Just ship them to Printful and they will store them for you and put them in every product they fulfill for you.
Printful had a couple of pricing plans earlier but very recently, they made the service free for all, that too with additional features.
So Printful is free. You only need to pay for the products, and shipping. Check out the pricing page for the latest on product and shipping costs.
Printful even gives you discounts on products based on how many monthly orders you bring in.
The more monthly orders you have, the bigger your discount will be.
Printful is my go-to recommendation for those looking for a print on demand platform.
It has everything you need, it is easy to use, and it has a lot of extra services that are really helpful for growing your business in the long run.

2. Printify
Another good Society6 alternative is Printify. Printify is also one of the best Society6 alternatives for dropshipping, in my opinion.
One of the reasons I like Printify is that it allows you to choose your print provider.
It gives you more options than Society6 in that regard.
For example, if you want to dropship a t-shirt, you might see several different print providers who can fulfill that t-shirt for you.
You can read reviews of each print provider, and you can also compare them based on shipping times, printing methods, the materials they use, and the type of packaging they use when shipping the product to your customer.
I do want to mention that some products have only one print provider available.
Nevertheless, popular products have several, giving you more flexibility and control over your business.
Unlike Society6, Printify gives you full control over your earnings, regardless of what you are selling.
You also have more flexibility in terms of where you can sell your products.
You can sell on an online marketplace like Etsy or eBay or start your own store using a platform like
The product selection is good too. There are over 300 products to choose from, including clothes, home accessories, tech accessories, and more.
Some interesting products you can sell via Printify include pin buttons, pet tags, and watch bands. T
here is also an eco-friendly section, making Printify a great option if you want to create an eco-friendly dropshipping store.
Like Society6, Printful is free to use. However, you can upgrade to a premium plan if you want to set up more stores.
The standard, free plan limits you to five stores. For $29/month (or $24.99/month billed annually), you can create up to 10 stores and get discounts of up to 20 percent on all products.
If you want to set up more than 10 stores, and you have more than 10,000 orders a day, you can set up a custom enterprise plan.
You can always downgrade your plan, and you won’t lose anything.
For updated pricing information, check the Printify pricing page.

3. Fine Art America
Fine Art America is an excellent alternative to Society6 if you want to control your earnings.
You can sell products like canvases, prints, metal prints, tapestries, posters, wall art, pillowcases, towels, puzzles, yoga mats, stationery, phone cases, face masks, clothes, and more.
You can even sell digital art on Fine Art America, like wallpapers.
In addition, if you have original art that you want to sell, you can sell it via the Fine Art America marketplace.
Fine Art America uses high-quality materials for all its products.
They promise museum-level quality for their prints.
Fine Art America gives you full control over your earnings.
You get to set your own markup on top of each product’s base price.
If you are selling digital art, you get to choose the base price, and Fine Art America will add a 30 percent markup on top of that, which will go to them.
One of the reasons I prefer Fine Art America over Society6 is that it gives you a lot more options when it comes to where you can sell your products.
Like Society6, Fine Art America has its own marketplace, so you don’t have to go through the hassle of setting up your own store if you don’t want to.
Not only can you tap into Fine Art America’s existing customer base, but you can reach more people due to the fact that they have a mobile app marketplace as well.
Fine Art America lets you reach even more people with their retail partnerships.
Yes, you can sell your art at more than 150 retail locations across the US via eCommerce websites and in-store kiosks.
You can even license your Fine Art America artwork for TV. FAA provides artwork for ABC TV programs, so your art may be featured there if you license it for TV.
You can sell on Facebook by adding the FAA shopping cart to your Facebook page.
Finally, if you want to set up your own store, you can use the Fine Art America
If you have an existing blog where you want to feature your FAA art, you can also copy and paste a block of code to embed your FAA art on your website.
There is one more option I want to mention: You can “clone” the entire Fine Art America website to create your very own private label online art marketplace. Here’s an example of such a site.

4. RedBubble
RedBubble is an online marketplace that is very similar to Society6 in many ways.
However, unlike Society6, they allow you to adjust the markup of each product.
For example, if the product costs $10, you can add a markup of 30 percent for a total price of $13, $3 of which goes to you.
The default markup is 20 percent, but it is fully adjustable.
You can sell all types of products on RedBubble, including:
- Clothing
- Masks
- Stickers
- Phone cases
- Wall art
- Accessories
- Stationery
- And much more
There are over 70 products that you can sell.
I say that RedBubble is similar to Society6 because you won’t be selling on your own website.
Instead, you will be selling on the RedBubble marketplace.
While that gives you somewhat less flexibility, it also means that you can tap into a built-in audience and that you won’t have to spend time figuring out how to create a website.

5. CafePress
CafePress, unlike Society6, allows you to control how much you earn if you are selling on your own store.
They also give you a platform for setting up your own store, so you won’t have to bother with third-party platforms like
You can use one of the free CafePress Shop templates, add your logo, and customize your store.
Then, upload your products or use your own custom HTML.
CafePress Shops might not look as stylish as a
You can also upgrade to a premium CafePress Shop, which does have a monthly cost but gives you more options and features.
If you wish, you can also sell on the CafePress marketplace.
You will only earn a five percent royalty on products sold in the CafePress marketplace.
However, when you sell products in your own store, you get to set the markup and control your earnings.
In addition, CafePress will give you a monthly bonus if you get enough monthly sales.
Here’s how it works:
- Less than $100/month in base price sales: No bonus
- $100-500: 10 percent bonus (for $100 in base sales, you will earn a $10 bonus)
- $500-1,000: 15 percent bonus (for $1,000 in month base sales, you will earn a $150 bonus)
- $1,000-2,000: 20 percent bonus
- $2,000-5,000: 25 percent bonus
- $5,000+: 30 percent bonus
There are over 250 products you can sell on CafePress, which is pretty good.
There are some exciting products that you may not find on other print on demand platforms, such as:
- Bumper stickers
- Wall clocks
- Keepsake boxes
- Yard signs
- Velcro beer coolers
- License plate frames
- Pet bowls
- Journals
The prices are pretty reasonable too.
Here are some example prices (these are the base prices; if you sell on your own shop, you can add your own markup):
- White t-shirt: $15.99
- Trek water bottle: $7
- Wall clock: $10.99
All in all, CafePress is a better alternative to Society6 if you want to set up your own independent store but don’t have the experience to deal with
6. Zazzle
Zazzle is an excellent alternative to Society6 because while you will be selling your products on the Zazzle marketplace, with all the benefits of having a built-in audience, you are still in control of your earnings.
While the standard Zazzle royalty rate is five percent, you can raise it to up to 99 percent.
The only exception is Zazzle Heart products and Value Phone Cases; for those products, the maximum royalty rate is locked at five percent.
Keep in mind that when you raise the royalty rate, the price of the product will go up as well.
After all, Zazzle needs to take a base commission, regardless of how high the royalty rate is.
Zazzle generally recommends setting the royalty rate between 10-15 percent, but if your product is valuable enough, you can definitely put it at 20-30 percent or even higher.
It’s free to sell on Zazzle and create your Zazzle Store, and you will even get a discount on Adobe Creative Cloud, so you can use it to help you make your designs.

7. SPOD (Shopify Print On Demand)
If you need an alternative to Society6 for
It has a very appealing promise – all products will be fulfilled within 48 hours, no exceptions.
Another appealing feature of Shopify Print on Demand is the fact that it has over 50,000 free designs you can use when designing your t-shirt or any other product you are selling through SPOD.
This means you can get started with print on demand even if you have no design skills, and you can’t afford to outsource your design needs.
Another reason to prefer
Ordering a sample product before you start selling it can help you ensure that the product is of high quality and that the design came out looking great.
A third reason to use
Using the Customizer tool, your customers can do stuff like add text and rotate the designs.
That’s how they can get products shipped out quickly to any destination in the world.
Shipping varies, but express shipping to the USA can take as little as two days.
For a shipping calculator, go to this page and enter the destination country/state.
Of course, since you will be selling in your own store, you get to control your earnings.
Just download the SPOD app from the

8. Spreadshirt
Spreadshirt is an exciting alternative to Society6 because instead of a fixed royalty rate, you will earn a fixed dollar rate.
For example, for every men’s premium t-shirt you sell, you will make a fixed rate of $4.
For a unisex pajama set, you will earn $5, and for an insulated stainless steel water bottle, you will make $4.
However, that is only for products sold via the Spreadshirt marketplace, which gets 100,000 visitors a day.
If your product is sold via a third-party marketplace like Amazon, the rate is different.
For example, for a men’s premium t-shirt, you will earn $3.40.
Spreadshirt will sell your designs on external marketplaces like Amazon or eBay to help you reach more people.
It’s not guaranteed that all or even some of your products will be syndicated to Amazon or eBay, however.
Also, Spreadshirt has a customizer tool that customers can use to customize the products they are ordering.
All products sold via that tool will earn you a flat rate of $3, regardless of what product it is.
You may prefer to earn a fixed dollar rate instead of a percentage rate.
If so, Spreadshirt is for you.
However, you can also control your earnings if you decide to sell on your own store instead of the Spreadshirt marketplace.
You will lose out on the built-in audience, but you can control your prices.
Interesting Comparison: Spreadshirt Vs Printful
9. Spreadshop
If you don’t fancy the idea of getting a fixed dollar rate, consider heading over to Spreadshop, Spreadshirt’s sister site.
Spreadshop, unlike Society6 or Spreadshirt, gives you a platform for setting up your very own online shop.
You will be able to build your store on the Spreadshop platform, and you will even get your very own URL.
You will be able to modify your storefront, schedule discount campaigns, and even integrate Spreadshop into the backend of your existing store.
You can control your own prices and generally be independent.
Spreadshop is an excellent alternative to Society6 if you want to set up your own store but not deal with
Also, Spreadshop is a YouTube merch partner. This means that you can sell your Spreadshop products on a merch shelf under your YouTube videos, along with images and prices.

10. Teespring
Teespring, unlike Society6, allows you to control your earnings, even though you will be selling on the Teespring website.
You can set up your very own Teespring store on the Teespring marketplace.
You can customize your storefront and add the products you want to sell.
Teespring even syndicates your products to external marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Rakuten.
You can turn this off if you want, but it will allow you to reach more people.
Teespring is an excellent Society6 alternative if you are a YouTuber or Twitch streamer who wants to sell merch.
Teespring allows you to set up a YouTube merch shelf, and there is a Twitch extension, so Twitch streamers can sell merch as well.
In addition, integration with TikTok is in the works, so if you are a TikToker, consider using Teespring instead of Society6.
Wrapping It Up: What Is The Best Society6 Alternative?
I recommend Printful as the best Society6 alternative, although Printify is a close runner-up and also very good.
Printful has a wide selection of products at decent prices, and you can set up your own brand with their white label services.
